Seth Guthrie - Simday 20

35 simyears old:

Alright. I have to forget my hesitation about opening up my life for everyone to view and judge. Here goes...

I'm in love with an over the top, eccentric kind of woman, and her name is Marisa Bendett. I want to marry her, but I'm not sure she wants to marry me. Sometimes I really wonder if we're gonna make it; if she's just too big a butterfly for me to capture. Sometimes I wonder if I can provide the kind of lifestyle she wants to live.

There. I got that off my chest.

Some Sims say she's tacky, some say she's got a mouth like a sailor, I just say she's unique. She's real. She doesn't care who you are, she's gonna be herself no matter what. You can take it or leave it, and that goes for anybody...including me.

She's been known to strike out and punch somebody just for saying the wrong thing to her. In all truth, I was surprised that Maxine Wise left our apartment standing last night. LOL! It was rough for a minute, let me tell you. I'm not sure Maxine realised who she was talking to. LOL! It was certainly not my intention to start a war when I originally invited Emerita Valdes over to meet Marisa, as a surprise.

I only wanted them to get to know each other, and maybe Marisa could be invited to some future parties. But, the night turned out real well for Marisa, despite herself. I was proud of her.

I wanted to take her to the park the next day, so we could just shake things off and relax; enjoy the summer and get out of that apartment. I saw her laying out in the sun, looking so peaceful. I surely didn't want to disturb that, even though Tomika had come to shoot some hoops with me and talk about the jail situation.

Marisa never turns down an opportunity to meet with, or be seen hanging out with the social elite. I knew she'd kill me if I didn't tell her Tomika was there.

She ended up laying out in the sun too long, getting sunburnt, but she told me that any color is better than no color. Excitedly she said, "It looks like I've put pink rouge all over my body!"

I just shook my head. What else can I say to that? It had to hurt, though.

The little kids at the park were running from her. It didn't bother Marisa one bit. In fact, she laughed and acted like she was chasing after them. She even slid down the pool slide after one little boy who kept screaming "Lobster Lady!" at her.

That's when I whistled for her to come over, I didn't want her drowning the little guy in the pool. LOL! She rushed right over to greet Tomika. She even managed to invite herself over to the Magnolia Mansion. That's my girl!

Our day was cut short when the skies darkened and the lightning started. One thing I know for sure, when the weather gets bad nowadays, everyone in the Hills gets worried that another hurricane is about to hit. We had walked to the park, and had a long walk ahead of us...but fortunately, Keith Dalton was able to call us a cab home.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was fighting mad when I went to City Hall to look for a new job. That's not something I had been prepared to deal with.

All of a sudden my life was uprooted. I had to find a new place to live, because the old SH Police Department was destroyed by the hurricane. That's how I ended up in the cheapest studio apartment I could find, and it is the pits! The walls are like paper thin...it drives me insane almost every night.

At least I still had my job, or so I thought...turns out the new Willow County Jail couldn't open because the Administration has no money, based on what Tomika had told me at the park. They're trying to keep that fact hush-hush, so Sims won't panic. I'm writing it here because the budget is about to be released anyways.

I only had $486 to my name when the news hit the paper about the lack of funding at the jail. My rent is $785! I owed a ton of money to the bank...I had to do something quick! Now you know why I opted out of my business. I needed cash quick. I just didn't know how long it was going to take to get it. You ever had this kind of stress?! It's not easy.

Thank goodness it came only a few days later!

SimCity Government paid me the Business Value of Seth's Barbershop! $25,000!

You would think this money would put me back into the swing of things, a lump sum like that. But, it didn't. It put me ahead of the swing, in my opinion. I couldn't bring myself to tell Marisa how much money I had gotten because she would wonder what happened to all of it, so quickly. She kept asking me and asking me...I kept her distracted with kisses and whatever else I could think of.

The truth is...I had a $20,400 Bank Loan against me. When would I ever have this kind of money again to pay it all off? I didn't want to be paying on it for the rest of my life, accruing interest. It was the smartest, most painful thing I've ever had to do. I had $4,600 left over to save for a bigger place, maintain part of the rent and household bills with; buy me and Marisa some new clothes, get me a couple packs of cigarettes, etc.

My whole summer was a distraction, because believe me...Marisa asked me how much that check was, every single simday. I couldn't tell her the truth because she would've never agreed for me to pay the whole loan off at once. I know her. She would've wanted to move to a bigger apartment first. She would've wanted to buy something...the list goes on. I am, in essence, delaying what I know will be the worst cursing out I've ever had.

I took her to the Willow Co. Library for a movie night.

We went fishing at the new Spencer Farms Fresh Market. I wanted to show off my 1st Place Gold Trophy-winning fishing skills, and believe me I was talking smack the moment we left the apartment all the way over to the store...but she managed to out fish me that simday. My mojo was off.

I took Marisa back home to clean the fish. I left to go buy a cell phone. I didn't want to get stuck out somewhere again without being able to call for a cab. When I called home to give Marisa the number, she told me that Sabien had called and needed to talk to me. I called him right away. He told me that I've got my old job back!! Bluewater Village has agreed to provide the jail with prisoners and funding!!

I was so relieved, you can't imagine! At the prison, I'm in charge. I make the calls. This job means a lot to me.

Sabien said he'd meet me over there the next simday, so we could meet the new Resident Prison Cop (RPC), Earl Grainger.

He's a great guy; composed, easy-going.

I think he's perfect for the job. We've got a well-run jail, if I do say so myself. Tomika Cunningham is the Governing Officer in charge, even though she's in Law Enforcement. I'm next in charge, as the Prison Guard-Senior Officer, and Earl is the RPC.

This ain't no cake walk, either. We've got a tough bunch of guys in there. These are not your everyday chump criminals...these guys have killed, robbed, stabbed, and extorted money by force. You name it. They've done it.

We've got 4 prisoners, currently. 5 cells, and 10 beds. If you do something illegal, you'll find yourself in here, too.

My job is to rehabilitate these prisoners; to make sure that no one gets past these walls without an adjustment to their way of thinking. And I take my job very seriously.

Marisa Bendett - Simday 20

32 simyears old:

Warning: Adult language

Wow, this is different! I'm not used to reporting my life story, but I guess you could say Simmington Hills has been reporting on me since the beginning. Why not give back, right?

Remember when I was in the Simday's Paper for assault at the old Bank of America? It didn't embarass me. I crave that kind of publicity! Do you know how many parties I was able to crash that week?! But, that was a long time ago. If you read the article, you know that I was accused of flirting with Nick Michels in the bank. And I bitch-slapped this girl for calling me out on it. But it was true. I did have a small crush on Nick but he didn't know it. He was like a rock star. The man with all the money. I eventually got involved with someone else. The man with no money. Hee-hee!

Trinity Dalton - Simday 20

43 simyears old:

Do you realize how long it took for me to get pregnant?! I had thrown in the towel. I was getting older by the moment, and Keith was busy trying to make a name for himself in the Interior Design world. So, I prayed that he would forget about it...and then it just happened! When I stopped thinking about it, it happened!

My staff at the hospital was so wonderful to me, they told me it was going to be a multiple birth. I needed to get plenty of rest. I decided I would wait and not tell Keith. I wanted him to be surprised. In the meantime, I knew we needed to save as much money as possible. We had put a huge lump sum of money into our house...I wasn't working, and Keith was saving money and spending it as soon as something caught his eye. Now what kind of saving is that?! Who goes out and buys a Lexus when their wife is about to have a baby?!! I worried over his decision-making. I worried about my past affecting my children. What if someone told them I was crazy and had to go in the loony bin?! I became a worrywart about EVERYTHING!

What if the same thing happened to me that happened to my sister?! This echoed daily in my head. I was afraid that I would suddenly choke to death, I was afraid to walk around too much for fear that it might make my babies come early, I feared that I wasn't eating right, and the food I cooked came out burnt all the time, (and I KNOW how to cook,) what if the burnt-ness in some way hurt my babies?!

I'm a doctor, so of course, I knew all this wasn't true, but in my head..it was very real.

I didn't even want to be touched! But Keith kept touching me and oogling all over me. One day I told him, "You massage me from over there, I'll still feel it." He did it, too! LOL! I pretended my butt off, ooh'ing and aaah'ing...it's hilarious in hindsight, but at the time I was dead serious.

I could feel myself getting that 'borderline feeling' again. Scared to become crazy again. All I could do to take my mind off of the chaos in my head, was to open a book. That was the only thing that helped me. I would sit there with a book until I got a headache.

Keith would ask me, "How can you read in the dark?! No wonder you're getting headaches!" I wasn't reading, I was silencing my thoughts. There's a difference!

When my babies came, I couldn't have been more happy with myself! I DID it!! I delivered two adorable, healthy babies! THRILLED was what I was!! I could never imagine loving two simbeings as much as I love these babies!

Keith found the most perfect nursery at a store called TSR, and Riverdale's Mayor Antwan Snowden, and his Hood Council sent us the most beautiful card and monetary gift of $400 for the twins!! Can you believe that?! How thoughtful of them to do that! So, I had the card copied and framed. I needed two of them for both my son and daughter as a keepsake. The words are so beautiful and so fitting! The card says:

"Two Little Ones to Love, Two Miracles Instead of One, Two Moonbeams Found, Two Rays of Sun..."

The kids quickly grew into rambunctious toddlers. I look at them sometimes and think to myself, "Wow, Aysa is the one that persuaded me to meet this man through SimMatch.com, and now I have these two beautiful babies!" I know she would be proud of them, as much as I am...the witch...

------------------------------------------------------------------

Both my kids can be grouchy at times. It can be hard at times to settle them down. Terris is more outgoing and active than his sister. He likes to be the center of attention, and he loves to play with you! If you sit down and play a toy with him, he becomes the perfect angel!

It's taken him a little longer to buckle down and learn how to use the potty, walk, talk, etc. He gets distracted very easily, wanting to go play in his toybox.

Terryn is eager to learn. Oh she's like a sponge! She learned how to potty, walk, talk way before her brother, and then she likes the skill toys we bought her. So she plays with those constantly. I have to bribe Terris to learn skills with the 'glow juice'. That boy loves that juice!

Every now and then, she just wants to be held. When she leans forward with her arms open for me to pick her up, I almost start crying out of sheer joy!

They both love to learn the nursery rhymes I try to teach them, but I've never been mucha of a singer, so Keith always yells for me to, "Knock it off." LOL!

-----------------------------------------------------------

The chaos in my mind has ceased for now. I only think about how I'm going to protect my children as best I can, and pray to live long enough to see my grandchildren. I'm not getting any younger, and the years are starting to show on my face.

Most of the chaos is inside my home now...the sounds of the twins playing and laughing, crying. I love those sounds. It's been a long time coming.

Keith Dalton - Simday 20

33 simyears old:

Since I last wrote, life has moved on. Trinity and I were able to purchase a small home at 88 E. Cedar Street, flat out with cash. We have no mortgage, and only have to pay a $500 property tax each period. We're the 1st family in the Hills to be able to do that, I'm proud to say!

This home was perfect for us - a bit on the small side, but that was no big deal. I had grand ideas for the place once we moved in. The reason we paid cash was because I wanted to renovate it without the limitations. Administrative Law is that you can't do large renovations if you don't own your home. Hey, I'm an Interior Designer. I can't have limits!

Our home became a showpiece. It was small on the outside, but Country Elegance on the inside! It was my best interior design so far:

The home evoked an atmosphere of warmth, with its country cabin feel and elegant style. I couldn't wait to publish it with the "How We Livin'" Tours!

And just when I thought it couldn't get any better, we found out we were pregnant!

I started winning interior design awards around the Sims Community, SimCity Furniture's website opened online, and it was all just a HUGE dream come true...until The Hurricane of Spring 1 destroyed everything!

We were devastated, but we still had each other. Trinity's pregnancy was fragile, though. She knew that she was in trouble if we didn't get settled in somewhere as soon as possible. Life at the camp was very difficult for her.

Lars Larsson was able to rebuild our home, thank goodness! We moved back in, but it wasn't the same. What surprised me, was it didn't even matter anymore. Maybe a little, but I didn't care about those material things as much. I was about to be a father. We plainly furnished the house, believing that one day, I might be able to restore it to its former glory.

All my efforts were placed on my wife. There was nothing more attractive to me than Trinity - pregnant. I couldn't keep my hands off her! She was radiant!

Whenever I'd see her having any discomfort, I would be right there. Truth be told, I knew she was worrying about carrying her pregnancy to full term, so I tried to make her feel as good as I could.

------------------------------------------------------------

SimCity Furniture was ripped apart by that hurricane. I opted to rebuild my store with a more casual and modern design. We don't have to dress up to come to work anymore. Heh-heh. I'm sure my staff likes that idea. It's still located at the old address, but looks nothing like it used to.

I'm working hard to get our Rank back up to where it was. We're on Level 5 now, so business is doing good. I managed to save some money for the baby's nursery, and buy myself a new Lexus LS430! I've had my eye on that car for a long time. And that's all I'll say about that.

---------------------------------------------------------

Trinity's due date came and I had the worst time watching her struggle in pain. It seemed like it took forever, but it was only a few minutes. She delivered twins...TWINS!

My ideal life has begun and the sky is the limit! I have a beautiful son and daughter, Terris and Terryn.

I had to quickly make room for the kids, so we added a second floor to the house; moved our master bedroom and bath upstairs, and made a playroom out of our old master bedroom. The upstairs isn't finished, but we can't complain of not having enough room anymore, that's for sure. We've got plenty of space to stretch out!

The main thing I've learned over this past spring and summer, is that things work out, even when we don't think they will. You just gotta have faith.
