Medical Insurance and Hospital Costs
We all need it. Now, we can all have it.
Starting on Simday 16, SimPLAN Healthcare Insurance is in full effect. We want to thank Harper's Cove and Dr. Maya Deppiesse. It was Dr. Deppiesse who pioneered the requirements for this healthcare package. I have named our package, SimPLAN, because we now have a plan!
The SimPLAN breakdown:
A family will automatically have health insurance by paying $70 per rotation/per adult/elder and $30 per rotation/per child/teen/toddler/infant. (Adult is considered to mean Adult and Elder. A child is considered to mean under the age of 18.) This payment gives you healthcare coverage for a full rotation (2 simyears).
In addition to this fee, there will be a deductible that must be met before the insurance will cover the services. This deductible is $500 per family, not per person and paid when needed. Once you have paid your $500 deductible, the rest of your medical care for that rotation is paid for by your insurance company in total. If you fail to pay your deductible, half the medical care costs must come out of your pocket. If you don't have medical insurance, the entire medical care costs must come out of your pocket. However, you can apply for welfare - a one-time-only assistance that pays $1,000 for emergency healthcare.
There will also be a copay of $30 for all doctor visits. This copay is due whether you have met your deductible or not, and whether you have to stay in the hospital or not.
For example:
John and Jane Doe have paid $140 during Period 1 in order to have health insurance (that's $70 each). Jane goes into the hospital to have a baby. The hospital bill for her stay and labor and delivery equals $3,000. John and Jane pay $500 (the deductible), and their insurance covers the remaining $2,500. During that same period, John comes down with a mysterious illness and goes to the doctor, who then sends him to spend 2 days in the hospital. John pays a $30 copay to the doctor, but owes nothing for the hospital stay because the Doe's have already met their $500 deductible for the period.
I am confident that this plan will greatly benefit Simmington Hills and its residents. It will allow us the health care that we need without sending our residents in debt. If you have any questions about this new policy, please contact me at simmingtonhills@yahoo.com
*All insurance payments and deductibles should be sent to the Administration. All co-payments go to Dr. Trinity Dalton.
