Coming of Age...Celebrate Life! - July/August 2008

Kimberly had grown tired of carrying this baby and being on so-called bedrest. It was HOT outside and keeping up with the chores on a farm, is all the more aggravating in the heat. She had adamantly insisted Sergio stay home from working the Fresh Market one evening; Let one of the girls run things for a night! She wanted to move this pregnancy along.

They had spent most of the evening in bed talking about the store...about the farm...and everything to do with the heat index and its effect on the veggies' growth, despite being cultivated in a greenhouse....Wheww! Kimberly was bored of the subject, but let Sergio drag on, as a good wife does, sometimes - I said, sometimes. But, she couldn't ignore the fact that it was getting late. She had to turn things up a notch or Sergio would never get a clue!

Coming of Age...Celebrate Life! - June 2008

All age transitions, births, and upcoming births will be posted under the new Coming of Age - Celebrate Life! threads.

In this update, I'm excluding Sims that should be here...ie. Keva Michels (12), Kendra Bachelor (12), Kent Bachelor (4), and Ashanti Raphael (4). Keva Michels and Ashanti Raphael transitioned too early (my mistake), and the others moved into town already at a transitional age.

Viv Everett was surprised when Chuck called her into the nursery to show her a big blue fish rug he'd bought for the baby. They didn't have much money to spend on a nursery, but they made the most of what they could buy.

"It's perfect, honey!" She exclaimed. Happily surprised that he'd bought anything at all for the baby - for one...and then thinking to herself, the rug barely matches anything in the room, but how much choice do you have when you're buying from thrift stores?

"The baby's gonna love it! Hopefully, he or she will one day run Everett Home Fishery, just like Daddy does." Viv said enthusiastically.

Are You My Daddy? - May 2008

Edward Valdes is 45, Emerita Valdes is 45, Elmer Valdes is 18, Erline Valdes is 18, Mayor Sabien Cunningham, Sr. is 52 , Lt. Tomika Cunningham is 52, Rashid Cunningham is 18, Ray Wilsonoff is 33, Lydia Wilsonoff is 33, Dr. Trinity Dalton is 52.

Last month during lunch in the cafeteria, Rashid Cunningham had slipped Erline Valdes a small note asking her to call him. She never did.

Surprised?

He was too, when he never heard from her. It was her moment to find out where he stood with her. And Rashid was ready to put his heart and his future on the line to step up and be a man...in his way; on his own terms. He would've told her that he was ready to step up. But, by the time Erline got home, exhausted from her first full day back in school...the fantasy had died and reality had set in. What if? She asked herself. What if he's not the father? Why mess with his head? She'd done enough of that already.

DNA Drama - March 2008

Dr. Trinity Dalton is 52, Lt. Tomika Cunningham is 52, Mayor Sabien Cunningham, Sr. is 52, Ray Wilsonoff is 33, Lydia Wilsonoff is 33 and Rashid Cunningham is 18.

"Hi, Trin'. How are you? Rough morning, wasn't it?!" Tomika hugged her old friend tightly; glad that the robbery at the Dalton home wasn't more dangerous than it turned out to be.

"Rough isn't the word. It took me forever to get out of my driveway...all the cops snooping around for more evidence and SimCity reporters preparing their stories for the morning news. But hey...we're doing fine. The twins are a little shaken up, but otherwise, we'll make it." Dr. Trinity Dalton said with a trembling smile. She was more daunted by the conversation she was about to have with the Cunninghams, than by the disrupted home invasion she encountered this morning.

Mommies To Be - March 2008

I wanted to post the beautiful, glowing pictures of these Moms to Be to show you how they are doing, pregnancy-wise. After a look at my calendar, I realized we won't see but one of these ladies in a journal update for the birth, and the others not until well after their babies are born. (I will probably do mini-updates on the births, though.)

RLWilsonoff - November 2007

Ray Wilsonoff is 32, Lydia Wilsonoff is 32.

Ray and Lydia must've gotten turned on by the serious discussion they had minutes before. As soon as it was over, they got busy on their loveseat as if they needed to cement their feelings for each other. Ahhh, but we all know that makeup sex is the best thing ever!

So here's what happened earlier that evening...

Ray Wilsonoff - Simday 20

30 simyears old

Having been held in a holding center for way too long, my mood was not the best upon arrival to Simmington Hills. I'm not the nicest person to begin with.

And Stacy Masters rubbed me the wrong way when she happened to be walking by, as the cab let me out in front of my new apartment. I later heard she used to live there, so was she just being nosy? But, why did she have to mention Sabien Cunningham? I mean, true. The guy is nice. He tries his best, I know. And, my family respects the man dearly, but I'm not in favor of his slow immigration procedures. And I let her know that. I guess I could've tried to make a better 1st impression. The last thing I need is for Sabien to find out what I said, without having had a chance to explain myself.

She walked away from me in a huff, which I don't blame her. All she was doing, was trying to be nice.

I walked over to Aldi's for some new clothes and to meet Sergio Spencer. A man that I revere in the cooking world. I wanted to grab a copy of his new cookbook, "Think Like a Chef". While shopping, I managed to stick my foot in my mouth again by upsetting Sergio. I didn't mean to tell him how to cook his omelettes. But, I like mine cooked a certain way. I guess he took offense because I wasn't even eating there that night.

There were a number of beautiful ladies doing some shopping as well. I scanned the room to see which of them caught my eye. There's no better way to meet new people.

Confession: I like them young.

Needing to meet a more experienced woman, I turned my attention towards Marylena Hamilton, another one that caught my eye. She wears her hair dyed red at the store, but rinses it out when she's not working. Someone must've told her that was cute.

She and I ended up getting along pretty well. I planned to meet her at GameTime Sports Bar later that night. So, a much needed haircut was in order. Seth Guthrie hooked me up. I know my Mom and Dad, Ajani and Rayne, will be glad to see that I look a lot more professional.

I went home and changed and put some food on my stomach.

Marylena was running late...a pet peeve of mine. So, I wasted time by chatting up Tosha Go. I began to feel a little uncomfortable after a few stares from some of the pool players, so I left her alone. I must've been slurring my words a bit.

Marylena finally got there, and the rest of our time together has been fun, but there's something missing. I just don't know what it is.

My neighbors, the Valdes', have been warm and inviting since I moved in. They invited me to their kids birthday party. I met Lydia Sagacious there. Her name alone, intrigued me. And, she was quite impressed that I was a member of FENSA. This woman had intelligent things to say. I was totally mesmerized by her.

I finally met Sabien at the party, too. He's been so great working with my Aunt Ayanna, I decided to give him a lemon torte I had made.

All in all, the party was a real nice social event for me. The Valdes' have been an integral part of introducing me to the sitizens of Simmington Hills. They even took me to dinner at Aldi's to get to know me better.

It's too bad their daughter was scheming to get to know me better also.

She's certainly not the one to blame. I knew what I was doing. But, are the Valdes' going to understand?

Opening my Saint Rose Bakery was an afterthought to all this madness. I'm hoping that my financial troubles at the bank and the little indiscretion with a minor won't land me in jail. Nick Michels is leaning on me to make a payment on my loan.

I'm in way over my head in debt and in matters of the heart. I really like this kid, but Lydia is The One, I believe. How do I break Erline's heart?

Lydia Sagacious - Simday 20

30 simyears old, (12/01/07):

I came to Simmington Hills for one purpose and that was to help my sister raise her toddler son, Charles, until he became a child. I hadn't thought much about what I would do after that. My dream is to be a Space Pirate in the Adventurer career. I may give that a go when Charles grows up...but, until then, it's cooking, cleaning, taking out the garbage, and being there for the kids.
